Mentropy Privacy Policy

This text describes what Mentropy collects, why, how long it keeps it, and what you can do about it. It's written to be read.
The principle
We only know who you are when you choose to show yourself.
That isn't a figure of speech. It's in the design of the app: with each post you decide whether to sign with your name or not, and what's anonymous stays anonymous, including to me.
What the app collects
What you give me
- Email and password. The password is held by Supabase, the service that hosts the data. I never see it. - Display name and profile photo, if you add them. - What you write: posts, comments, and the signature you chose for each one.
What you generate by using the app
- Completed practices, with date and duration. - Posts you saved. - Who you blocked. - Reports you made.
What comes along without you asking
Error reporting and usage analytics tools collect a device identifier, device model, system version, and depending on the tool, IP address.
This is so I know when the app breaks and where people get stuck.
What those tools never receive: what you write. Usage events and post content live apart and never cross. I know that someone wrote a post. Never what he wrote.
What leaves the app
Translation
When someone asks for a post to be translated, the text of that post is sent to Anthropic's API, which runs Claude.
This only happens when someone asks. No post is translated automatically.
The translation is stored here after the first time, so later readers don't need a new call.
Before anything is sent, the app asks for your consent and names the service being used.
No one else
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. There are no ads in Mentropy.
Where the data lives
Data is hosted by Supabase, on servers in Brazil.
If you're outside Brazil, this means your data is transferred to and stored in Brazil.
For how long
While your account exists: everything you created stays.
A post you delete: disappears from view immediately. It's kept for 7 days, during which you can restore it from your profile. After that it's gone.
An account you delete: you have 7 days to reactivate it. After that, everything is deleted, with three exceptions:
1. Posts you chose to leave. When deleting your account, you decide whether to take your posts with you or leave them for whoever comes next. If you leave them, the signature you chose at the time stays, but the link to your account is broken. 2. Open reports. If there's a report involving you under review, the material stays until a decision is made. 3. Removal records. If you were removed from the community, the record of that decision is kept indefinitely, including your email. It exists so the decision can't be worked around with a new account.
Messages you send me by email stay in my email, separate from the app, for up to six months. Deleting your account in the app doesn't delete those messages.
Notifications
The app sends a notification in one case only: when another man comments on a post of yours.
There are no practice reminders, no nagging about days off, no promotional notifications. You can turn notifications off in your profile.
Payment
Subscriptions are processed by Apple, and later by Google. I don't receive, see, or store your card details.
Your rights
At any time, you can:
- See and correct your data, in the app. - Delete posts and comments one by one. - Delete your account entirely, from your profile. - Request a copy of your data, by writing to support@mentropy.app. - Ask anything about this text, at the same address.
Under Brazil's General Data Protection Law, and under the GDPR if you're in the European Union or the UK, you can also object to the processing of your data and withdraw your consent. Write and we'll sort it out.
Age
Mentropy is for people 18 and over.
The app is not directed at minors and does not knowingly collect data from minors. If I find that an account belongs to someone under 18, it will be deleted.
Security
Data is protected by Supabase's mechanisms, including encryption in transit and access rules enforced on the server, not just in the app.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, you will be told.
When this text changes
If something changes in a meaningful way, I'll say so inside the app before it takes effect. The date at the top says when it was last changed.
